Information about Voter
Registration
To
become a registered Linn County voter or to update your
current registration please fill out the voter
registration form that is available at this link and mail it
in to the Linn County Auditor's Office or contact your local
republican Party representative who will hand carry your
registration to the Auditor.

Your voter
information and history is public record.
WARNING:
If you supply false information of any nature you will be
prosecuted and when convicted you can be fined up to $7,500.00
and/or
jailed for up to five years for false information.
You can become a registered voter:
- By Mail
- In Person
- Through the Department of
Transportation Office (While you are updating, renewing or
getting your driver's license.)
- Through
a State Public Service Agency
There is no residency requirement for
registering to vote. To be included in the elections
register for a specific election, you must be registered 11
days before a School, City or Special Election, and 10 days
before a Primary or General Election.
You may register at 17½ years of age, but you must
be 18 years old before or on Election Day, be a resident
of Iowa and a United States citizen in order to vote.
You must be registered to vote in the
county where you live. Registrations are not transferable
from county to county.
You may use the voter registration form
found in the phone books. You must sign the form before
mailing.

You may also register in person at the
Linn County Elections Office on the 2nd Floor of Westdale
Mall in Cedar Rapids.
Voter Registration forms are also
available at the City Clerk’s Office located in each City
Hall.
Residents may also register at the Iowa
Department of Transportation offices and with State Agencies
that provide public assistance.
Making Changes to Your Voter
Registration
If you are already registered to vote, but
have moved within Linn County, you must file a change of
address. You may use the form found in the phone books; the
form found at the Secretary of State’s website or the
registration link at the top of the page to file your change of
address. The same form is also used for any change to
your registration.
You may change your address at the polls
on Election Day if you're already registered to vote. You
must go to your new polling place to change your address on
Election Day. Call the Auditor’s Office (319-892-5300)or the
Linn County Republican Party
(319) 721-8023 to determine where your new polling
place is.

Filing the change of address by the
deadline for registration will prevent delays at the polls.
